Vermilion Rockfish Fishing Guide
The vermilion rockfish is one of the most prized sport rockfish in California, commonly — and inaccurately — sold in restaurants as "red snapper." Its brilliant vermilion-orange coloration and firm white flesh make it a premium table fish, and it schools aggressively over rocky reefs at 20–100 feet where it readily hits cut bait and iron jigs.
